Now...Onto Step Two
You've figured out what your monthly expenses are going to be right? You know how much you make in a month and so naturally you know what you can afford.
The mistake I see a lot of people making is not getting a pre-approval from a bank or mortgage broker BEFORE they head out and look at properties.
Why is this a mistake? Well like I said, YOU know what you can afford, is the Bank going to agree with you? There would be nothing worse than getting your heart set on a property, going through the motions of making the offer, inspections, and then having to wait on that approval just to get turned down because the bank says you can't afford it.
