Why don't some home builders pay their contractors?
Recently I spoke to a friend of mine who is a contractor and a plumber and he asked me a question, “Why do some home builders (Bravo Homes) not pay their contractors?" I gotta say that one threw me for a loop!
I guess you could call it naivety, but I just assumed that builders such as Bravo Homes, a higher end builder who builds in the prestigious community of Bearspaw, wouldn't have a problem paying their contractors. Like I said, maybe I am naive but I was raised to respect my elders, to not talk back to my parents and to always pay my bills on time.
It is unfortunate in this world that we are now in, that companies such as www.bravohomes.cacontinue to turn their nose up at the little contractor trying to earn an honest dollar. Have we learned nothing after the complete meltdown of the housing market in the US and the alleged hedging of the mortgage market by huge companies such as Goldman Sachs?
Now don't get me wrong I am not comparing Bravo Homes to a conglomerate such as Goldman Sachs but what they are doing to an honest and hardworking business man is along the exact same lines. As you may have guessed this is a calling out of sorts, I am strongly urging that the owner of Bravo own up to his commitments and the deals that he made not only with this contractor but from what I hear other contractors on the last home that they built in Bearspaw.
This is also a calling out to other home builders out there as well, pay your bills, if you say you are going to work with a REALTOR®, follow through and if you want my business or the business of my clients, it is time for transparency and honesty.
